Greetings. In my art, I gravitate toward natural themes and still life subjects. My recent work includes representations of botanical life, sea life, insects and other naturalistic themes at close detail. Much of my work attempts a minimal degree of abstraction but I find the bold colors of fauvism really interesting. I feel like it is not my preview as an artist in an age of cameras to depict things exactly as they are but rather to represent aspects of my subjects that are more expressive and emotive than the literal lense. My recent paintings have been oil paintings but I work in acrylic sometimes and with 3D mediums.
